GAU honours Mass Uprising Day with rally, tree planting, and civic dialogue

Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) observed Mass Uprising Day on 17 July 2025, with a series of programmes designed to inspire awareness and civic responsibility among students and staff.
The day’s events commenced with a vibrant rally that began from the university’s administrative building premises. The rally proceeded through various parts of the campus before returning to its point of origin.
Following the rally, a tree plantation programme was held, underscoring the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Professor Dr GKM Mostafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of GAU, and Dr Abdel Wahab Saidani, Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh, each planted a fruit tree sapling near the administrative building. The initiative symbolised a vision for a greener future.
A formal discussion session was later held at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium. The session was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr GKM Mostafizur Rahman. Ambassador Dr Abdul Wahab Saidani attended as the chief guest, while Professor Dr Md Shafiul Islam Afrad, Treasurer of the university, and Nazinur Rahim, Executive Editor of Diplomat World, joined as special guests.
The programme was attended by faculty deans, directors, provosts, faculty members, students, the registrar, and other university officials and staff.
