BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) honoured the legacy of Shaheed Md. Selim Talukder, who was martyred during the July Uprising, with the official inauguration of the Shaheed Memorial Plaque at the BUFT campus yesterday (14 August) 2025. The ceremony paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the martyred hero of July 2024.

The memorial plaque was inaugurated by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees. The ceremony was attended by Shaheed Selim Talukder’s father Mr. Md. Sultan Talukder, and his sister Jannatul Ferdoushi Akhi, along with university dignitaries including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, the Treasurer, Deans, Heads of academic and administrative departments, faculty members, officers, and students.

The programme highlighted BUFT’s dedication to preserving the memory of national heroes and fostering patriotism among students. Attendees paid homage through speeches, prayers, and a moment of silence, making the ceremony a dignified and memorable occasion.
