The National Institute of Science & Technology (NIST) organised the orientation for the 2024–2025 session’s freshers and the farewell for the 2019–2020 batch on 11 November 2025 at the institute’s Bijoy Milonayton auditorium in Panthapath, Dhaka.

Professor Md Lutfor Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the National University of Bangladesh, attended the event as Chief Guest.

Professor Dr Israfil Shaheen, Chairman of NIST’s Governing Body and Chairperson of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Dhaka; Kazi Tamanna Haque Sigma, noted academic and theatre personality; and Professor Dr Mohammad Shakawat Hossain, Executive Director of National University Affiliated Institutes under Daffodil Group, were present as Special Guests.

The programme was presided over by Tanjida Supta, Principal (Current Charge) of NIST, while Salma Afrose, Lecturer and Convenor of the event, delivered the welcome speech.

The ceremony concluded with a colourful cultural performance, marking the occasion with music, dance, and celebration.
