BRAC University students announce protest after attack on Osman Hadi
Students of BRAC University have announced a protest following an attack on Osman Hadi, who was reportedly shot on Friday (12 December) at around 2:21pm. He is currently receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital.
The incident has raised concern among private university students over personal safety and the freedom to express dissent. Student groups said the attack was intended to silence public voices and disrupt the momentum of the recent July Movement.
In response, students have announced a protest gathering scheduled for Saturday (13 December) at 12:00pm in front of the BRAC University main gate. They urged BRAC University students and participants of the movement to join the demonstration.
As of the time of filing this report, police had not detained anyone in connection with the shooting.
No official statements have been issued by BRAC University authorities or law enforcement agencies regarding the incident or the planned protest.
