The second edition of TEDx National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam University was held on 17 January 2026 at the Nazrul Memorial Museum Auditorium in Trishal, Mymensingh, under the theme ‘Edge of Change’.
The locally organised international TEDx event featured 10 speakers from diverse professional backgrounds, who shared insights and experiences aimed at inspiring students in career planning, personal growth, and future leadership.
Speakers included architect Iqbal Habib, film director Mezbaur Rahman Suman, cinematographer Zubair Talukder, engineer Hasan Mahmud, travel content creator RK Sohan, writer and economic analyst Mohaimin Patwari, cricket analyst Syed Abid Hasan Sami, filmmaker Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, cartoonist Syed Rashed Imam Hasan Tanmoy, and actress Sadia Ayman.
During his talk, filmmaker Amitabh Reza Chowdhury stressed the importance of reading in shaping creative and professional growth. “There are five things that are very important in making a film—read, read, read, read, and read,” he said, adding that failure, though painful, often becomes the foundation of success.
Actress Sadia Ayman encouraged students to step beyond self-doubt and fear of judgement. “Experiences outside academics can transform you and inspire others. Until you change yourself, nothing around you will change,” she said, urging young people to prove their worth through action.
Speaking about the event, Aktab Uddin Sarwar, Lead Licensee of TEDx JakkanEB, said the university was proud to host the TEDx programme for the second consecutive year. “We believe this platform has offered students new perspectives to plan their careers and shape their futures. The success of today’s event reflects months of dedicated effort,” he said.
The day-long programme ran from noon to evening and aimed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and confidence among students through storytelling and idea-sharing.
