In a summary of its activities shared on 14 February, the ministry said music schools operating from Bandarban to Kurigram were included under plans for government financial support.

The ministry also planned to organise a national-level competition among these institutions, with the top five schools set to receive awards from the Prime Minister.

The incentive programme drew appreciation on Facebook, including from veteran guitarist Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal of the legendary Bangladeshi rock band Warfaze, who shared the post on his account.

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs for this initiative. Proper music education is essential for intellectual development,” another Facebook user commented.

The post said planning and implementation work related to the initiative took place during the reported period.
