Omni-sust

A team of young innovators from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) is set to represent both their university and Bangladesh at the International AI in Healthcare Hackathon 2026, organised by Central Asian University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 26 to 28 March.

The team, named Additiya, is developing an innovative healthcare technology solution aimed at improving the early detection and accessibility of breast health screening, particularly for women in low-resource settings. Their initiative combines portable screening technology with artificial intelligence to make preventive breast health monitoring more accessible, affordable, and scalable.

Team Additiya consists of Swapnil Barua, Nusrat Jahan Urmi, Reza, Safu, Soumik, Abid, and Momo. The team represents a collaborative effort across institutions, with members from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and Dhaka Medical College (DMC), bringing together expertise in engineering, technology, and medical science.

The International AI in Healthcare Hackathon brings together students, researchers, and innovators from around the world to develop technology-driven solutions to major healthcare challenges. For Team Additiya, the event provides an opportunity to collaborate with global innovators, exchange ideas, and further develop their technology for real-world healthcare impact.
