Argentina will play Guatemala in a home friendly on March 31 as part of its preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, the Argentine Football Association announced.
The match comes after the cancellation of the planned Finalissima clash against Spain due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The venue for the friendly is yet to be confirmed.
It will be Argentina’s only scheduled match before the World Cup, which will be held across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The defending champions will begin their campaign against Algeria on June 16, followed by group stage matches against Austria and Jordan.
Argentina had qualified for the Finalissima as Copa America winners, while Spain secured its spot as a European champion. The match had originally been scheduled for March 27 in Lusail, Qatar
