The Ministry of Education mulls online and in-person classes at metropolitan education institutions (excluding universities) amid fuel crisis.

Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat today (31 March), Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon said that a proposal will be presented and discussed at the upcoming Cabinet meeting before a final decision is made.

A global energy shortage has emerged amid ongoing tensions due to the US and Israel’s war in Iran.

In this context, to conserve fuel nationwide, the government is contemplating the introduction of online classes alongside regular in-person sessions in schools across the country.

The minister further noted that there are plans to keep schools open six days a week, with particular emphasis on implementing online classes in metropolitan areas.
