ULAB CSE department hosts seminar on entrepreneurship and startups

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) successfully organised a seminar titled “Student Pathways to Building Globally Competitive Startups” on 8 April 2026, with the aim of inspiring students towards entrepreneurship, innovation and startup development.

The seminar featured Md. Al-Amin Sarker, Chief Executive Officer of Barikoi Maps and co-founder of AmarBike, as the resource person. Drawing on his entrepreneurial journey, he shared practical insights into building startups, overcoming early-stage business challenges and competing within the global technology ecosystem. His engaging discussion encouraged students to explore innovation-driven career paths beyond conventional employment opportunities.

Students participated enthusiastically in the interactive session, engaging in thoughtful discussions on startup culture, technological innovation and the evolving global entrepreneurial landscape.

In the concluding segment of the programme, Professor Muhammad Golam Kibria, Head of the CSE Department, highlighted the growing importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in shaping future leaders and globally competitive professionals. He expressed gratitude to all participants and acknowledged the support of Mr Anowarul Abedin in successfully organising the event. A token of appreciation was presented to the resource person in recognition of his valuable contribution.

The seminar reflects ULAB’s continued commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, technological innovation and industry-academia collaboration among students.
