A long-rumoured documentary on Jamie Vardy is set to be released on Netflix next month, chronicling the remarkable journey of the Leicester City striker.

According to Versus, the film will be part of Netflix’s critically acclaimed anthology docuseries UNTOLD, which is heading to the United Kingdom for the first time to explore some of the most iconic figures and moments in English football.

The documentary traces Vardy’s rise from non-league football to Premier League champion, charting the making of a 21st-century football icon. Other episodes in the series are expected to revisit Liverpool FC’s 2005 Champions League-winning side and former footballer Vinnie Jones.

Featuring unseen archive footage, dressing room stories and interviews with Vardy, his wife Rebekah, teammates, managers and close friends, UNTOLD UK: Jamie Vardy presents the story of how a boy from Sheffield became one of football’s most compelling underdogs.

UNTOLD UK: Jamie Vardy will premiere on 12 May on Netflix.
