The Mechanical Engineering Department at Kuet has announced ‘IGNITION 2026′, a national festival to showcase students’ engineering problem-solving skills and promote technical excellence.

Building on the success of three previous editions, ‘IGNITION 2026 – National Mechanical Festival’ will take place from 23 to 25 April 2026.

After a two-year hiatus, this year’s edition will feature a prize pool of Tk6 lakh.

The event is supported by Runner Motorcycles, Active Green Energy, BanglaCat, BDDE, Royal Enfield, and Gazi International.

The festival includes 12 contests, such as line follower robots, soccer bots, business case studies, ad-making, CAD, project and poster competitions, 3 Minute Thesis, mechanics and automobile olympiads, content writing, and gaming.

Organisers said they designed these segments to challenge students nationwide with real-world engineering problems and to assess their innovation, strategic thinking, and practical impact.

IGNITION 2026 is expected to bring together more than 1,200 participants, including students, industry professionals, and expert judges.

With a strong national online presence, the event aims to promote technical excellence, research, and business expertise while strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
