UDAF hosts orientation programme for DU accounting freshers
University of Dhaka Accounting Forum (UDAF) hosted its orientation programme, “UDAF Says Hi”, sponsored by Joya Sanitary Napkin in association with SMC Enterprise Limited, on 15 April at the TSC Auditorium, welcoming the freshers of the 31st and 32nd batches of the Department of Accounting.
The programme was designed to introduce new students to the cultural and academic environment of the department. It brought together students, faculty members, alumni and club representatives in a lively and engaging atmosphere.
This year’s theme, “UDAF Theatre”, added a creative dimension to the event by combining storytelling, performances and interactive segments.
Alongside a series of informative sessions, the event gave students an overview of the department’s co-curricular activities and potential career pathways.
Chief Financial Officer of SMC Enterprise Limited Abul Bashir Khan, FCMA, attended the programme as chief guest, while Chief Financial Officer of SMC Limited Tapan Bala, FCA, FCMA, was present as special guest.
Among the faculty members present were Professor Amirus Salat, moderator of UDAF; Professor Al Amin, student counsellor of the department; Associate Professor Ishter Mahal, BBA programme director; and other teachers of the department.
The programme also featured cultural performances, including recitation, drama, dance, music and a ramp walk, reflecting the creativity and enthusiasm of the students and aligning with the “UDAF Theatre” theme.
Through “UDAF Says Hi”, UDAF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting student development, strengthening community ties and creating meaningful experiences beyond the classroom for newly admitted students.
