IUB professor co-authors book on digital transformation and AI-driven business innovation
Dr Nazrul Islam, Professor in the Department of International Business at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has co-authored a new book on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and business innovation, published by the US-based international academic publisher IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
The book, titled Digitech Agility for Business Competitiveness and Innovation Imperatives, explores how organisations can utilise digital technologies, agile strategies, and innovation-driven approaches to remain competitive in rapidly evolving business environments.
The publication examines areas including artificial intelligence, blockchain, predictive modelling, digital innovation, workforce dynamics, business continuity, and technology-driven competitiveness.
The book was jointly authored by Professor Nazrul Islam of IUB, Nazrul Islam of the University of East London in the United Kingdom, and Serajul Bhuiyan of Savannah State University in the United States.
Professor Nazrul Islam said the publication was developed in response to the growing need for organisations and institutions to adapt to rapid technological transformation while ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth.
“Digital transformation is no longer limited to technology adoption alone. Organisations now need agility in strategy, leadership, workforce development, and innovation management to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global environment,” he said.
Professor Islam previously served as Pro-Vice Chancellor at Northern University Bangladesh and Canadian University of Bangladesh. He earned his PhD and MBA in International Business from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand and has held senior academic and administrative positions at both public and private universities in Bangladesh.
An established researcher in management and international business, he has published extensively in international refereed journals, presented research at global conferences, supervised numerous doctoral and MPhil researchers, and authored five books.
