Business debate competition concludes at University of Scholars
The Scholars Business Club at the University of Scholars has concluded its flagship business debate competition, “ArguVerse 2026”, held on 16 May, uniting top student talent in a dynamic contest of business reasoning, strategic thinking, and persuasive communication.
The competition took place at the University of Scholars campus, 40 Kemal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka.
Capt Mobashwer A Khandaker, Treasurer Registrar of the University of Scholars, attended as the chief guest.
Also in attendance were SM Nahidul Islam, Head of Business Administration; Fahim Ahmad, Lecturer and Club Advisor; and SK Shafin Hossain, President of Scholars Business Club.
ArguVerse 2026 comprised three rounds: “The Big Question”, “Rapid Motion”, and “The Boardroom Showdown”.
In the opening round, “The Big Question”, teams participated in 3v3 structured debates on core business issues, presenting arguments and rebuttals under strict time limits.
The semi-final, “Rapid Motion”, tested participants’ speed, precision, and teamwork through a knockout format with timed presentations and swift rebuttals.
The grand finale, “The Boardroom Showdown”, simulated a corporate environment where finalists assumed executive roles such as CFO and CMO. Teams tackled real-world business scenarios, developed strategic responses, and defended their decisions before the judging panel.
Judges for the opening round included Farzana Rahman and Taslima Tasnim, both Lecturers at the University of Scholars; Taspia Islam, former executive at LTE Advertising Ltd and past president of JnU Career Club; and BM Banjir Ahmmed, Director of Growth and Operation at Siren Communication, and a former business coach at Accelerating Bangladesh.
The semi-final was judged by Md Shafikul Alam Saif, entrepreneur, start-up mentor, and CEO of Siren Communication; and Ahmad Abdullah Rifat, Founder and CEO of Take a Boat.

Grand finale judges were Tarif Mohammed Khan, Head of Comms (AGM), DIVC, and national mentor at Accelerating Bangladesh; and Dina Afsana, Co-founder and COO, Vertical Innovations Limited.
Young Professionals and Aspiring Bangladesh (YPAB) served as strategic partner. The Daily Campus and Kaler Kantho were media partners, The Business Standard was the print and online media partner, TBS Graduates was youth engagement partner, and Radio Carnival was radio partner.
Scholars Business Club noted that it aims to develop students’ leadership skills through workshops, competitions,, and career-focused initiatives. Its core theme remains “Think. Act. Lead.”
