BYSIS organises competition to promote young science innovators
The Bangladesh Young Scientists and Innovators Society (BYSIS) has organised the national round of the international innovation and creativity competition, BIICC 2026, with the aim of fostering scientific and technological advancement among the nation’s youth and securing Bangladesh’s presence in global forums.
The results announcement and awards ceremony for the national round took place at the Bishwa Sahitya Kendra auditorium in Dhaka on 19 May 2026.
Dr Mobarak Ahmed Khan, scientist and researcher, attended as the chief guest.
Colonel (Retd) Ashraf Al Deen, educationist and writer, along with Zubair Ahmed, Assistant Professor at North South University, attended as guests of honour.
Nadimul Huq Zulas, tech content creator, CEO of Nabatech World, and mentor at BYSIS, was present as a special guest.
BYSIS President Mosaddek Hossain presided over the event.
The global round of BIICC 2026 is scheduled to take place in Malaysia from 19 to 23 June, under the supervision of the Malaysia Young Scientist Organisation (MYSO), with BYSIS serving as co-organiser.
Twelve teams from educational institutions nationwide have been selected in the national round and will represent Bangladesh at the global event in Malaysia.
The winning teams received medals, certificates, and YES cards at the ceremony.
A special crest of honour was presented to Dr Mobarak Ahmed Khan in recognition of his scientific research and innovation.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Mobarak Ahmed Khan emphasised that research and innovation are key drivers of national progress.
“Research and innovation are what take a nation forward. Today’s youth will lead the science and technology of the future. This initiative by BYSIS will open new horizons for Bangladesh’s talent on the international stage,” he said.
Students and guests expressed hope that BYSIS would continue to organise science and technology-based events to highlight the innovative potential of young Bangladeshis internationally.
KidZana and the science magazine Byapon were event partners, while The Business Standard, TBS Graduate, and Clarion Call served as online and media partners.
