Bangladesh created history with a memorable 2-1 victory over San Marino on European soil, marking a winning start for new head coach Thomas Dooley.

Defender Topu Barman emerged as the hero of the match, scoring both goals with clinical headers to guide Bangladesh to a landmark international victory.

Bangladesh opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Topu Barman rose above the defence to head home from a cross. San Marino responded strongly and levelled the score in the 31st minute through Nicolas Giacopetti, sending the teams into the break tied at 1-1.

The second half saw both sides create opportunities as they searched for a winner. Just as the match appeared destined for a draw, Bangladesh struck decisively in the 86th minute. Topu Barman once again met a cross with a powerful header, finding the back of the net and sealing a historic 2-1 victory.

The result represents Bangladesh’s first-ever win on European soil and provides an encouraging start to the tenure of Thomas Dooley. The victory has been widely celebrated as a significant milestone for Bangladeshi football and a positive indication of the national team’s progress on the international stage.
