DAAD Helmut-Schmidt Master’s Scholarship 2027
This is to inform all concerned that applications are now open for the DAAD Helmut-Schmidt Programme (Public Policy and Good Governance 2027), offered by the Government of Germany, for eligible Bangladeshi students.
The programme aims to support future leaders from developing and emerging countries by providing opportunities to pursue Master’s degree programmes. It prepares students in practice-oriented courses for responsible positions in or for their home regions, contributing to establishing democratically oriented economic and social institutions designed to overcome social inequalities.
Academic education will take place in English, starting from September/October 2027, at renowned, participating German universities.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of a developing or emerging country, including Bangladesh.
- Academic Record: Must possess an excellent academic record with a well-qualified first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) and above-average grades (upper third).
- Target Fields: Degree or background should ideally be in Social and Political Sciences, Law, Economics, Public Policy, and Administration.
- Experience & Commitment: Applicants should have already gained practical experience relevant to the programme (professional experience, internships, or political/social commitment) and be willing to actively contribute to the social, political, and economic development of their home countries/regions.
- University Requirements: Must meet the specific admission requirements of the participating Master’s courses, which may vary depending on the chosen university.

- 01 June 2026 – 31 July 2026
Application Procedure
- Applications must be submitted directly to the participating German universities hosting the specific Master’s courses.
- Applicants are required to submit all necessary academic and supporting documents in accordance with the individual programme guidelines.

Interested Bangladeshi candidates are requested to submit their applications within the stipulated deadline.
