BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (Buft), in collaboration with its Department of Environmental Science and Buft Science and Environment Club, observed World Environment Day through a two-day programme held on 10–11 June 2026, promoting environmental awareness, sustainability and climate action.

The programme featured a tree plantation drive, an environmental awareness rally, a SpoGOMI Tournament, a roundtable discussion and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed between Buft and four environmental organisations.

Winners of various competitions were also awarded prizes.

The programme was graced by Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Buft, as the chief guest and chaired by Professor Dr Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate).

Distinguished attendees included Board of Trustees member Mohammed Nasir; Prof Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Acting) and Treasurer; Advocate Shafiqur Rahman, Chairman of Pran Prokriti Poribesh Protibesh Rakkha Jatio Committee; Professor Dr Md Abdul Jalil, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Registrar Md Rafiquzzaman; as well as deans, department heads, faculty members, officials and students.
