UIU

United International University (UIU) has been ranked Bangladesh’s top private university in Earth and Environmental Sciences, according to the Nature Index Institutional Ranking 2026.

The ranking reflects high-quality research output published in leading science and health journals.

The 2026 index assessed research published between 1 February 2025 and 31 January 2026.

The Nature Index is widely recognised as an independent benchmark of international research excellence.

In the 2026 ranking, UIU was placed 10th among all research and educational institutions in Bangladesh in Earth and Environmental Sciences.

The university also ranked 8th among all universities—public and private—nationwide, and first among private universities.

UIU described the achievement as a further milestone in its ongoing focus on research, innovation and academic excellence.

Since its founding, UIU has prioritised research-driven education, international collaboration and innovation.

The university said the recognition is a testament to the work of its researchers in environmental and earth sciences, particularly within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Environment and Development Studies (EDS).

UIU added that it continues to strengthen research infrastructure, expand global partnerships and enhance the quality and impact of its scholarly publications.

The university expects the recognition to further contribute to the development of Bangladesh’s higher education and research ecosystem and bolster the country’s position in internationally recognised research.
