BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) welcomed the third intake of its SICIP programme, awarded certificates to trainees from the first two intakes, and held a job fair on Saturday (25 July).

The events were held at the BUFT Auditorium under the BUFT-SICIP Programme, according to a press release.

Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at BUFT, attended as chief guest. Professor Dr Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate) and Advisor to the BUFT-SICIP Programme, presided over the ceremony.

Among those present were Riaz Bin Mahmud, Member of the Board of Trustees at BUFT; Syeda Amina Fahmeen, Additional Secretary, DEPD (PM-3); TIM Zahid Hossain, Advisor to Shin Shin Group; Professor Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor of BUFT; Rafiquzzaman, Registrar of BUFT; Maureen Karim, Deputy Secretary, AEPD (PM-3), SICIP; and Mainul Hasan, DEPD (FM).

BUFT deans, representatives of the Public Relations Department and Directorate of Student Welfare, faculty and administrative heads, officers, students, government officials and industry representatives attended the event.

The university said the programme reflected cooperation among academia, industry and policymakers in advancing skills development and employment opportunities through the BUFT-SICIP initiative.
