The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) welcomed newly enrolled students for the Spring 2026 semester at its Freshers’ Orientation Programme on Saturday (25 July).

The programme introduced the students to the university’s academic resources, regulations, clubs and co-curricular activities, according to a press release.

Alamzeb Farjad Ahmed, Senior Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at UAP, attended the programme as chief guest.

Welcoming the students to the UAP community, he encouraged them to pursue academic excellence with discipline, integrity and confidence. He also assured them of the Board of Trustees’ support in maintaining a high-quality learning environment.

Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University, and Syed Ershad Ahmed, Deputy Chairman and Vice President of MAC Holdings (Private) Limited, attended as special guests.

Dr Mohammad Kaykobad thanked the students for choosing UAP for higher education and encouraged them to remain curious, think critically and make the best use of the university’s guidance and opportunities.

Syed Ershad Ahmed described the orientation as the beginning of an important academic journey. He advised the students to use UAP’s academic resources and participate actively in co-curricular activities to develop leadership, teamwork and career-ready skills.

Professor Dr Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor of UAP, chaired the event.

He congratulated the freshers and urged them to maintain discipline and integrity while remaining committed to lifelong learning.

Brigadier General (Retired) Professor Dr AKM Nazrul Islam, Registrar of UAP, and Professor Dr Aloke Kumar Saha, Proctor, briefed the students on the university’s rules and regulations.

Mohammad Rakiv, Acting Director of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare, introduced the students to the university’s clubs and their regular activities.

Professor Dr Sayeed M Ahmed, Dean of the School of Environmental Sciences and Design; Professor Dr MA Baqui Khalily, Dean of the School of Business; and Professor Dr Mohammad Shahriar, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, also addressed the programme.

Heads of departments, faculty members, administrative staff, freshers and their parents and guardians attended the event.

An interactive session was held with parents and guardians at the end of the programme to discuss their expectations and strengthen collaboration in supporting students throughout their academic journey.
