IUB Programming Club hosts Programming Week Summer ’26
IUB Programming Club (IUBPC), in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), organised Programming Week Summer ’26, powered by Education Connect, to promote algorithmic thinking, practical project development and collaborative problem-solving among university students.
The week-long event was held from 25 July to 2 August and featured three segments, the Intra-IUB Programming Contest (IIPC), Intra-IUB Hackathon and Tech Project Showcase, with a combined prize pool of Tk72,000.
Participants presented hardware and software projects to a panel of judges from industry and academia, developed solutions to real-world problems under time constraints and engaged in complex problem-solving challenges.
In the senior category of the Intra-IUB Programming Contest, Ahnaf Abdullah secured first place, followed by Tanvir Ahmed in second and Rabiul Islam Raihan in third. In the junior category, Md Al Fardin Khan took first place, Md Rashedul Islam Sabbir secured second and Sah Paran finished third.
In the Tech Project Showcase, Md Habibur Rahman Habib of PIKU Robotics was named champion, while Syed Faizan placed second. Team Error, comprising Ramisa Islam Shreya, Suad Janeeta Rahman and Samia Jannat Mommy, secured third place.
In the Intra-IUB AI Hackathon, Syed Faizan of RoboCap won first place. Team IUB_TechFreak, comprising Rasheduzzaman Rochi, Mandira Paul and Fahim Shahriar Alif, finished second, while Team Doomsday, comprising Syed Mehedi Hussain, Md Mahmudul Hasan and Ridwan Hasan Khandakar, secured third place.
The organisers said Programming Week Summer ’26 reflects IUB’s continued commitment to fostering technical excellence and innovation by providing students with opportunities to connect academic knowledge with real-world applications in computer science and engineering.
