ADWIZ 2.0 advertising contest ends at BRAC University with BUP team as champion

Two teams from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) secured the championship and first runner-up positions at ADWIZ 2.0, a nationwide advertising competition.

BRAC University hosted the grand finale at its Merul Badda campus on 15 August, while its own team secured the second runner-up position, according to a press release.

The BRAC University Business Club, BIZ BEE, organised the competition, which attracted more than 750 teams from 50 universities across the country.

BUP team Unnoyon emerged as champion, while another BUP team, 1st Timer, finished as first runner-up.

BRAC University team AdVerse secured the second runner-up position.

BRAC University Registrar Dr David Dowland presented Tk2 lakh, Tk1 lakh and Tk50,000 in prize money to Unnoyon, 1st Timer and AdVerse, respectively.

Dr Dowland said learning became more meaningful when students could connect classroom knowledge with real-world challenges and develop practical solutions.

During the competition, participating teams developed advertising concepts and integrated marketing campaign strategies for a designated brand.

The task allowed them to demonstrate their creativity, research capabilities and strategic thinking.

The finalists presented their ideas before a panel of industry professionals.

The panel evaluated the submissions based on research, creativity, problem analysis and solution-building capabilities.

The judging panel comprised Imranul Kabir, assistant general manager for Brand and Marketing at Safwan Bashundhara Global; Mahmudur Rahman Bhuiyan, director of Field Marketing Operations at ACI; Mohammed Zia Uddin, supply director at Reckitt; and Khairul Basher, director of the Office of Communications at BRAC University.
