The BUP Inter-Batch Moot Court Competition 2026 has brought together 27 teams from the Department of Law at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), with the final scheduled for 7 September.

Organised by the BUP Law and Moot Court Club (BUPLMCC), the competition aims to develop students’ legal research, advocacy, critical reasoning, argumentation and courtroom skills, according to a press release.

The competition began with the submission and evaluation of memorials, after which the top 10 teams advanced directly to the preliminary rounds.

The remaining teams competed in online qualifying rounds on 4 September, with the top six joining the 10 directly selected teams in the preliminary stage.

The preliminary rounds, quarter-finals and semi-finals were held on 5 September. The final round and closing ceremony will take place at BUP on 7 September.

The inter-batch competition seeks to promote healthy competition among students and strengthen the mooting culture within the Department of Law.

A panel of professionals from legal, academic and related fields is judging the competition, bringing different areas of expertise and perspectives to the proceedings.

Beyond Scope Education and Tech Buy BD are supporting the competition as event partners, while Infogram is the official media partner.

The Business Standard is the print and online media partner, and TBS Graduate is the youth engagement partner. The event is also being held in collaboration with Choudhurys & Associates.
