REACT 2026, a two-day national festival on science, technology and research organised by the IEEE Southeast University Student Branch, has concluded with a prize-giving ceremony at Southeast University.

The closing ceremony was held at 3pm on Friday, 11 September 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall of the university’s permanent campus, according to a press release.

State Minister for Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Division Habibur Rashid Habib MP attended as the chief guest, while Southeast University Board of Trustees Chairman Rezaul Karim attended as the special guest.

Speaking at the ceremony, Habibur Rashid Habib said technological excellence was essential to building a prosperous Bangladesh. He congratulated the winners in different categories and encouraged all participants to continue contributing to the country’s technological advancement.

Rezaul Karim described the participants as “young scientists” and urged them to pursue their efforts in technology. He also thanked the IEEE Southeast University Student Branch for organising the competition.

The festival brought together students, young innovators and researchers working in research, engineering, automation, computer science and technology.

Participants had opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, innovations and technical skills, as well as explore future research collaborations.

Southeast University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Mofazzal Hossain delivered the welcome address, while Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam gave the closing remarks.

Deans of different schools, heads of departments, faculty members, officials, employees and students attended the ceremony.
