The AIUB Inter-College Cricket Championship 2026 began Tuesday at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) Sports Field, with teams from 32 colleges across Dhaka taking part.

AIUB Board of Trustees Founder Member Nadia Anwar attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest, following an invitation, according to a press release.

AIUB Proctor Professor Dr Manzur H Khan, Head of Public Relations Abu Mia Akanda Tuhin, and Office of Sports Coordinator Md Joynal Abedin also attended.

Faculty members, university officials, representatives of participating colleges, and students also attended the ceremony.

The AIUB Office of Sports is organising the championship under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA).

The tournament aims to allow young cricketers to showcase their talent, develop their skills, and encourage interaction and friendship among students from different educational institutions.
