Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has honoured 210 high-achieving students in Chattogram for their performance in the O-Level and A-Level examinations under the Cambridge and Edexcel curricula.

The award ceremony was held at the auditorium of the Chattogram Centre of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) on 16 September 2026.

IUB Vice-Chancellor Prof M Tamim attended the event as chief guest. Special guests included Dr K Ayaz Rabbani, dean of the School of Environment and Life Sciences at IUB; Asif Parvez, registrar of IUB; urban planner Engr Delwar Hossain Majumder; Professor Dr Adnan Mannan of the University of Chittagong’s Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology; and Babar Ali, the first person from Chattogram to summit Mount Everest.

Lima Choudhury, director of Admissions, Financial Aid and International Relations at IUB; Priyanka Dey, deputy director; Md Fuad Hossain, outreach officer; and Masud Bakul, managing director of Whiz Communications, also addressed the programme. Kazi Arfat, director (Admin & Planning) at Whiz Communications, delivered the welcome remarks.

The programme featured cultural performances highlighting Chattogram’s heritage, followed by the presentation of awards to the students. A magic show by Rajib Basak and a musical performance by singer Shantanu Dutta were also held.

The event was organised with overall management support from Whiz Communications.
