American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has been named one of the top five winners of the University Innovation Exhibition Award at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026, competing with more than 70 public and private universities from across the country.
Organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the three-day fair was held at the Novo Theatre in Dhaka from 12 to 14 September under the theme ‘Innovate to Market’. The event brought together universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, investors, policymakers, educators and students to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, with a focus on turning research and technological ideas into practical, market-oriented solutions.
AIUB showcased a range of student and faculty-led capstone projects, prototypes and technology-based solutions during the event. The university’s stall drew visitors from academia, government and industry, including Faqir Mahbub Anam, MP, minister for posts and telecommunications and science and technology, and Md Anwar Hossain, secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Both visited the stall and viewed the projects on display.
A panel of judges evaluated the exhibits based on their innovation, relevance, practical applications and potential impact. AIUB’s selection as one of just five award recipients among more than 70 participating universities marked a significant achievement for the institution.
The recognition highlights the university’s efforts to encourage research, innovation and entrepreneurship by translating academic work into practical solutions.
AIUB acknowledged the contributions of its students, faculty members, researchers and participating teams, as well as the coordination and support of the relevant university offices. The institution also credited its management for its continued support in advancing research, innovation, entrepreneurship and academic excellence.
