Buet opens online registration for 14th grand reunion marking 150 years
The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) has officially launched an online registration portal for its 14th grand reunion, scheduled to take place from 6 to 13 January 2027 as part of celebrations marking the institution’s 150th anniversary.
The portal was inaugurated today (3 November) at 11am in the seminar room of the Buet Alumni Association office on the university campus, according to a press release.
Engineer Abdur Rouf, convener of the grand reunion organising committee, presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Professor Dr AKM Masud, former director of student welfare at Buet, and Professor Dr Mohammad Abdul Motaleb, acting director of student welfare, attended the event as special guests.
Engineer Imu Riazul Hasan, member secretary of the grand reunion organising committee, and Engineer Atikur Rahman Bhuiyan Pinu, secretary general of the Buet Alumni Association, were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Abdur Rouf described the university’s 150th anniversary as a historic occasion.
“Buet’s 150th anniversary is a historic moment for us. We have launched this modern and automated online registration portal to ensure that thousands of Buet alumni living at home and abroad can participate in this grand reunion easily and without any difficulties,” he said.
Guests at the event expressed optimism that the online portal would simplify the registration process for Buet graduates worldwide, enabling broader participation in the celebrations.
They also expressed hope that the collective participation of former students would make the university’s 150th anniversary celebrations a memorable milestone.
Following the inauguration, all Buet alumni can complete their registration for the grand reunion through the official website of the Buet Alumni Association at https://alumni.buet.ac.bd/.
