JU workshop highlights responsible social media use and religious tolerance
A workshop on responsible social media use, misinformation prevention and religious freedom and tolerance was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Tuesday (3 November).
Titled “Workshop on Responsible Use of Social Media”, the programme was organised on the university campus by JU and Youth Ending Hunger.
The workshop discussed the importance of fact-checking on social media, the spread of misinformation and rumours, online hate speech, and the role of young people in promoting freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).
Participants also learned how responsible social media use can help foster respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among people from different religious and social backgrounds.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among young people and encourage them to become responsible members of society.
