Suhana Rahman Shukonna, a 17-year-old student from Bangladesh, has received the 2026 Diana Award in recognition of her work in mental health awareness, suicide prevention and community development, the announcement said.

Prince William and Prince Harry sent Suhana separate messages of congratulations, according to the press release. She is a Class 12 student in the English version at Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public School and College in Dhaka.

Suhana is a child coordinator at Talk Hope, a Bangladeshi initiative that works to reduce stigma around mental health and encourage teenagers to seek support when they need it.

Talk Hope runs awareness programmes in schools, holds discussions with students and involves young volunteers. The initiative encourages teenagers to talk openly about their mental health, express their emotions and ask for help when they are struggling.

Established in 1999 in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the award recognises young people around the world for their leadership and contributions to social change and community development.

Suhana, who was born in Cumilla, was previously nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize in 2024, the release said.
