Hult Prize at GAU launches 2026–27 session with new leadership
The Hult Prize chapter at Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has launched its 2026–27 session, aiming to expand student participation in entrepreneurship, innovation and social impact initiatives.
The new session will focus on strengthening partnerships, improving access to mentorship and funding opportunities, and encouraging students to develop business-driven solutions to social and environmental challenges.
The chapter’s 2025–26 campus finale, held at the Begum Sufia Kamal Auditorium, attracted more than 500 attendees and featured six competing teams, marking one of the largest finales in its history.
The new leadership committee includes Faysal Bin Kamal, former Head of Marketing, as Campus Director; Anubhob Kumar Pramanik, former Co-Head of Branding and Graphics, as Deputy Director; and Suchana Samaddar, a former Campus Champion, as Chief of Staff.
The committee plans to improve the quality of student-led startups, expand access to professional mentorship and funding, and establish partnerships with industry professionals and organisations. It also aims to organise community-oriented initiatives and collaborative programmes beyond the competition.
Drawing on GAU’s academic focus on agriculture and related disciplines, the chapter sees opportunities for student-led ventures addressing food security, sustainable agriculture, rural livelihoods and environmental resilience.
The Hult Prize is an international student entrepreneurship competition that challenges university students to develop sustainable, business-driven solutions to global challenges. The competition offers a pathway for participating teams to compete for US$1 million in seed funding.
Through the 2026–27 session, the chapter aims to expand its activities and create opportunities for students to develop entrepreneurial ideas into practical ventures.
