Dhaka University’s debate team Aparajeyo Bangla emerged as champions of the two-day National Debate Competition held at Rajshahi University. The final round of the competition took place on Saturday night at the university’s Shaheed Sukhranjan Samaddar Student-Teacher Cultural Center (TSC).
The competition, organized by Rajshahi University Debating Organization (RUDO) in collaboration with Ethics Club Bangladesh, witnessed participation from 34 debate teams from top universities across the country. In the final round, two debate teams from Dhaka University, Aparajeyo Bangla and Swoparjito Swadhinata, went head-to-head. Aparajeyo Bangla clinched the championship title, while Swoparjito Swadhinata secured the runner-up position.
Zil Jaswan, a debater from Bangladesh University of Professionals, was declared the Tournament Best Debater. Ragib Anjum of Dhaka University was awarded the Best Debater title in the final round.
During the competition, Ethics Club conducted a membership drive at Rajshahi University. Following the competition, a 21-member convener committee was formed for the Ethics Club at Rajshahi University with new members.
The award ceremony was graced by Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Sultan-Ul-Islam, Proctor Professor Asabul Haque, Public Relations Administrator Pranab Kumar Pandey, Associate Professor of Law Department Sadikul Islam Sagar, Convener of Ethics Club Bangladesh DU Branch Jasim Uddin, and President of Rajshahi University Debating Organization (RUDO) Sifat Hossain, among others. The event was moderated by RUDO’s General Secretary Sadhan Mukherjee.
