Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology Textile Alumni Association (AUSTTAA) has launched “Campus to Career – Beyond the Classroom”, a one-day industry readiness programme designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the practical demands of Bangladesh’s textile and ready-made garment (RMG) industry.

The programme was held at the M H Khan Auditorium on Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology campus. It aimed to equip graduating textile engineering students with practical industry knowledge, business insights and career-ready skills. Tex Hue Limited supported the initiative as the title sponsor, FCL joined as co-sponsor, and Apparel Times BD (ATBD) served as the industry knowledge partner.

Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Ashraful Hoque attended the programme as the chief guest. Addressing participants, he highlighted the importance of professionalism, adaptability and continuous learning in the evolving global apparel industry, and praised AUSTTAA for organising an initiative that directly prepares students for industry challenges.

Head of the Department of Textile Engineering Faizur Rahman also commended the association for its continued efforts to enhance students’ industry readiness.

AUSTTAA General Secretary and Managing Director of Tex Hue and ABMOR Ltd Manjur Morshed Al Azim said the association aims to ensure every future alumnus enters the job market with the skills and mindset required to contribute to and lead the industry.

The workshop covered topics including Bangladesh’s RMG industry and global supply chain, spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, apparel manufacturing, merchandising, sourcing, commercial operations, supply chain management, communication, stakeholder management, career planning, interview preparation and the transition from academic learning to industrial practice.

Industry experts and AUST alumni, including Sakib Sawroar, M M A Yeasin, Kamruzzaman Real, Imran Khan and Golam Sarrowra Anik, conducted interactive sessions based on practical business scenarios and industry experience.

The programme concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where the vice-chancellor presented certificates of participation to attendees.

Following the inaugural event, AUSTTAA said it plans to expand “Campus to Career” into a long-term industry readiness initiative in collaboration with universities, alumni, brands, buying offices, sourcing organisations and manufacturing companies.
