Tahmid zarif

Tahmid Zarif Prinon, a student of the Department of Economics at BRAC University, has been selected as a Youth Climate Negotiator Fellow under the first cohort of the Youth Climate Negotiators Fellowship 2026.

He is the only representative from BRAC University selected for the highly competitive programme, which brings together 16 young participants from across Bangladesh chosen from more than 2,000 applicants.

Jointly organised by Youth for NDCs and Unicef Bangladesh, the fellowship aims to equip young people with the knowledge and skills required for climate diplomacy and international climate negotiations.

As part of the fellowship, Prinon will participate in a series of climate action sessions and negotiation training programmes.

Upon successfully completing the fellowship requirements, he and the other selected fellows will represent Bangladesh at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31), scheduled to be held in Antalya, Turkey, in November. His participation in the conference will be fully funded.
