BRAC University students win Gold and Award of Excellence at World Invention Creativity Olympic 2026
Students of BRAC University have brought international recognition to Bangladesh after winning a Gold Medal and the prestigious Award of Excellence at the World Invention Creativity Olympic 2026 in Seoul, South Korea.
The competition, held from 16 to 18 July, brought together around 1,300 participants and nearly 400 inventions from about 30 countries, making it a highly competitive international platform for young innovators.
Nine inventions from Bangladesh took part in this year’s competition. BRAC University’s Team Automorph was the only Bangladeshi team to receive the Award of Excellence, which is awarded to the top 1% of participating inventions.
The team received the recognition for its project, AgriMorph V2.0, which was also awarded a Gold Medal for its creativity, innovation and presentation.
Team Automorph comprises team lead Md. Ezhar Hossain Ifty and team member Fardin Ahmed, both undergraduate students of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at BRAC University.
AgriMorph V2.0 is the team’s next-generation agricultural technology project, developed with a focus on real-world field deployment. Building on the successful development and testing of its first prototype, the upgraded system integrates multiple dynamic technologies and features a non-internet-based data transmission system.
The project also uses its own server to facilitate data collection and analysis, while creating scope for further research and development.
Speaking about the achievement, Team Automorph lead Md. Ezhar Hossain Ifty said the experience of representing Bangladesh on an international platform was deeply meaningful.
“Standing on the international stage and raising the flag of Bangladesh in front of participants from so many countries was a moment I can hardly put into words. It was an incredible honour and one of the proudest moments of our lives,” he said.
The achievement highlights the growing participation of Bangladeshi students in international innovation competitions and reflects BRAC University’s focus on research, engineering and technological innovation.
