Buet holds Dhaka Engineering Diplomacy Workshop 2026
Experts have emphasised stronger institutional partnerships in science and engineering diplomacy to help Bangladesh address climate, energy and cybersecurity challenges.
The three-day “Dhaka Engineering Diplomacy Workshop 2026”, jointly organised by the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) Centre for Environmental and Resource Management (Cerm) and Tufts University in the United States, concluded on 27 August, according to a press release.
The workshop began on 25 August with seed funding from the US National Science Foundation. Its closing ceremony was held at the InterContinental Dhaka.
Academics, researchers, policymakers and other guests from Bangladesh and abroad attended the ceremony.
Attendees included Tufts University Professor Dr Shafiqul Islam, Cerm Director Professor Dr Mokhlesur Rahman, Professor Dr Sohrab Hossain and Associate Professor Dr Aman Uddin.
Water resources expert Professor Emeritus Dr Ainun Nishat, directors general from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other guests also attended.
Speakers said stronger institutional collaboration in science and engineering diplomacy could enhance Bangladesh’s ability to address emerging challenges on regional and global platforms.
