JCI Dhaka Astral presents Capitalizer 2026, powered by Eastern Bank Limited and ACI Limited and co-powered by Gold Kinen, concluded its highly anticipated grand finale on 23 May 2026 at Radisson Blu Dhaka.

The flagship national investment strategy competition was organised by BUP Finance Society under the Department of Business Administration in Finance and Banking at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).

The competition, spanning three rigorous rounds, brought together some of the sharpest financial minds from universities across the country.

The grand finale was graced by Major General A S M Ridwanur Rahman, awc, afwc, psc, G, Director General of the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS), who attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

His presence reflected the significance of the platform in encouraging intellectual development and meaningful collaboration.

Further enhancing the significance of the evening, Brigadier General Md Aminul Akbar Khan, awc, afwc, psc, MPhil, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals, and Lieutenant Colonel Md Atique Chowdhury, BSP, Inf, Chairman of the Department of Business Administration in Finance and Banking at BUP, attended the programme.

Their presence underscored the institution’s continued encouragement of student-led initiatives and its dedication to fostering academic excellence.

The programme also hosted representatives from partner organisations and prominent corporate institutions, reflecting the strengthening collaboration between academia and the corporate sector.

This year’s edition drew participation from ambitious students from across the country.

Participants were tested throughout the competition through rounds designed to evaluate their analytical thinking, strategic instincts and ability to adapt under pressure while responding to complex financial challenges and unexpected curveballs.

More than 300 teams from 30 universities across Bangladesh participated in the first round, from which the best 16 teams advanced to the semi-final.

Among them, only six teams made it to the grand finale, rising above others and standing out for their consistency, resilience and strong performance throughout the competition.

An esteemed panel of judges comprising academics, financial experts and corporate leaders evaluated the finalists as they presented financial strategies, investment forecasts, valuation analyses and innovative approaches to contemporary financial challenges.

After a fiercely contested final round, Assets = Capital + Liabilities from BUP emerged as the champion of Capitalizer 2026, standing out for its strategic clarity.

Team 505 from the University of Dhaka claimed the first runner-up position, while Team The Godfathers, also from BUP, secured the second runner-up position.

Each team left its distinct mark on a stage that recognised excellence in every form it arrived in.

As the lights dimmed on Capitalizer 2026, the competition left behind more than just winners.

It became a stage where ambition found its proof and the next generation of financial minds found their moment.
