The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at Independent University, Bangladesh (DEA IUB), completed its Adventurous Journey Autumn 2026 Part 2 programme in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar, from 8 to 10 October.

A total of 17 participants took part in the three-day programme at Santibari Eco Resort, engaging in outdoor activities, cultural exploration and team-building exercises aimed at developing independence, resilience and collaboration.

A key activity was an eight-kilometre trek through Sreemangal’s tea gardens and rubber plantations, where participants developed physical endurance and teamwork skills while exploring the region’s natural landscape.

The participants also visited Manipuri Para and Manipuri Market to learn about local traditions and explore locally made products. A Manipuri cultural night offered them an opportunity to experience the cultural heritage of the local community.

The programme also focused on practical life skills, with participants preparing meals together and sharing responsibilities throughout the journey. The activities encouraged cooperation, strengthened friendships and helped participants develop a greater sense of responsibility.

Through outdoor challenges and cultural experiences, participants learned to take initiative, work collaboratively and step outside their comfort zones.

DEA IUB’s Adventurous Journey programme provides young people with opportunities for experiential learning, personal development and the development of essential life skills beyond the classroom.
