Dhaka University (DU) has waived tuition fees for students who were injured during the student-led July mass uprising.
The decision was approved at the university syndicate’s meeting on 22 june following a recommendation from the Finance Committee, said a DU press release today.
The meeting was chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A B. M. Obaidul Islam.
The university has also undertaken month-long programmes to commemorate the second anniversary of the historic July mass uprising.
Under the observance, halls, faculties, departments and institutes will organise a series of events alongside the university’s central programmes.
The commemorative activities include seminars, discussion and reminiscence sessions, essay and debate competitions, cultural programmes, experience-sharing events and the publication of souvenirs highlighting the July uprising.
