The SMC presents East West Winter Smash 2026, hosted by East West University from 6 to 10 April 2026, concluded with a strong performance from Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), as its athletes secured top positions across multiple categories.

IUB’s BBA Department emerged as a dominant force throughout the tournament, delivering standout performances in several events.

In the Men’s Singles category, Jawad Hafiz (BBA) secured the championship title after defeating his opponent from Sonargaon University in the final, following a semi-final win over North South University.

In Mixed Doubles, Mostafa Anik and Tasnim Noor (BBA) claimed the championship in an all-IUB final.

In Women’s Doubles, Tasnim Noor and Tashfia Tuba (BBA) secured the title after defeating Daffodil International University in the final, having earlier beaten East West University in the semi-final.

IUB also secured strong runner-up finishes across categories. In Mixed Doubles, Tashfia Tuba (BBA) and Ashfak Bin Ferdous (English Department) finished as runners-up, contributing to IUB’s overall dominance in the category.

In Men’s Doubles, Anas Hasan Shawon and Jawad Hafiz (BBA) finished as runners-up after a closely contested final against Sonargaon University, having earlier defeated North South University in the semi-final.

Overall, IUBians delivered an impressive all-round performance, showcasing consistency, depth and competitiveness across multiple events at the national inter-university level.
