Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today (13 April) said said students will be required to complete registration only once when moving from one class to another.

He instructed relevant authorities to strictly monitor the issue of re-admission during class promotions to prevent unnecessary repeat registration.

The minister made these remarks while addressing a view exchange meeting with centre secretaries of the Jashore Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board and the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards of Khulna division as the chief guest.

The meeting was organised at the Jashore PTI Auditorium on the occasion of the SSC and equivalent examinations-2026 by the Board of the Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jashore.

In his speech, the minister said there is no alternative to education in building the country’s future.

He added that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given special importance to the education sector. Special focus is being given to developing the teachers’ skills through training.

Referring to cheating in examinations, he said if the students attempt to cheat, it is not their weakness, rather it is the weakness of the teachers.

He emphasised the need to identify why students resort to cheating and address its root causes.

“Like the coronavirus variant, cheating has also evolved into different forms, including digital cheating,” he added.

The minister also said, “Many people troll me in various ways and I enjoy it. I want the opposition lawmakers to ask me questions regularly in the Parliament about the education system. Hold me accountable and put me in the dock, because the Ministry of Education is not like any other ministry – I want to work for the improvement of education.”

The meeting was chaired by Professor Mosammat Asma Begum, Chairman of the Jashore Education Board, where BNP National Executive Committee Vice Chairman and educationist Professor Nargis Begum spoke as a special guest.

Members of Parliament from Jhenaidah-3, Matiur Rahman, Gazi Enamul Haque from Jashore-5, Moktar Ali from Jashore-6, Ataur Rahman Bacchu from Narail-2, Abdul Alim from Bagerhat-4 and G M Nazrul Islam from Satkhira-4 were present as special guests.
