Dhaka International University hosted a vibrant cultural celebration titled “Boishakh Agomoni Shur 1433 Cultural Fest 1.0” on 11 April 2026, organised by the DIU Cultural Club. The day-long event transformed the campus into a lively space of Bengali heritage, creativity and youth engagement.

The inauguration began at 11:00 am with opening remarks by Assistant Professor Sharmistha Das, mentor of the Cultural Club. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, joined virtually from Cardiff and extended his greetings through a video message.

The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Zahidul Islam, along with members of the Board of Trustees, senior faculty members and administrative officials. Their presence added significance to the celebration. The programme also featured special guest poet Salman Habib.

Following the formal session, a cultural programme was held featuring music, dance and artistic performances by students, teachers and staff, reflecting the spirit of Pohela Boishakh.

The campus fair featured 63 stalls showcasing creativity, entrepreneurship and student participation. The evening programme concluded with a live performance by the band Ashes, which drew strong audience engagement.

Organisers expressed gratitude to sponsors, partners, performers and volunteers for their support. They also acknowledged the DIU Cultural Club for its planning and execution, as well as the proctorial team for ensuring discipline, safety and smooth coordination throughout the event.
