Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) has secured the top position among Bangladeshi universities in the 2025–26 edition of the university rankings published by the international academic platform Research.com.

According to the latest data released by Research.com, SAU achieved the distinction of being ranked first among the 12 universities from Bangladesh included in this year’s ranking.

The university’s achievement is primarily attributed to the internationally recognised scientific research conducted by its faculty members. According to the ranking indicators, a total of 660 high-quality research publications have been produced under the leadership of four top scholars and researchers from the university.

Commenting on the achievement, Professor Dr Belal Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the university, said that in the current era of globalisation, securing a position in an international university ranking is a significant accomplishment. He noted that a university gains international recognition when it is included in a globally acknowledged ranking system. He further mentioned that, in the past, the university’s data had not been incorporated by many ranking organisations.

“Now that our data are being included in international databases and websites, we hope to achieve even stronger positions in various global rankings in the future,” he added.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abdul Latif congratulated all the teachers and students whose tireless efforts contributed to this success.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the faculty members and students whose dedication and hard work made this achievement possible. We hope to secure even better positions in international rankings in the coming years,” he said.

It is noteworthy that Research.com, an education and research-focused academic platform, has published its global and regional university rankings for the third time this year.
