Southeast University inaugurates ‘Job Fair 2026’ with participation of 55 organisations
Southeast University (SEU) officially inaugurated the “Southeast University Job Fair 2026” today at its multipurpose hall at 10:00am, marking a major initiative to bridge the gap between academic excellence and the corporate world.
The two-day event, running until 7 May on the university campus, serves as a networking platform for students, alumni and leading employers.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Special Assistant to the Hon’ble Prime Minister (Youth Employment) Sayed Bin Abdullah as chief guest, who emphasised the importance of youth empowerment in the national workforce.
Engr Md Shamsuzzaman Nasim, CIP, Managing Director of Micro Fibre Group, attended as special guest and shared industry insights. Advocate Niaz Ahmed, Member of the SEU Board of Trustees, also delivered a special address.
Presiding over the session, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam highlighted the university’s commitment to enhancing graduate employability.
Other distinguished speakers included Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Mofazzal Hossain, Registrar Major General (Retd) Anwarul Islam, and Professor Dr Md Serajul Islam, Dean of the School of Business Administration and convener of the event.
The job fair has attracted 55 multinational and leading local organisations across sectors including banking and financial services, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, information technology, healthcare, hospitality, electronics and real estate.
Beyond recruitment opportunities, the fair also features career development sessions and two expert-led seminars aimed at strengthening professional skills among job seekers. Speakers include Professor Dr Md Anwar Hossain, Member of the University Grants Commission, Santonu Hasan, Country HR Manager at Intertek Bangladesh, and Muhammad Zahid Al Beruni, Director (Operations) at Advanced Chemical Industries PLC.
The fair will conclude with a closing ceremony on 7 May. State Minister for the Ministry of Planning Md Zonaid Abdur Rahim Saki is expected to attend as chief guest, alongside Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank T M Asaduzzaman as special guest.
