Student cultural bodies urged to work together
Nahiyan Zaman Sammo, Cultural Prefect of Dhaka Residential Model College and President of Remians Cultural Club, has called for greater inclusion, cooperation and solidarity among student-led cultural organisations across Dhaka.
The initiative aims to build a more connected and dynamic cultural space for young people by encouraging collaboration among students from different educational institutions in the capital.
As part of the initiative, discussions were held with students from Dhaka Residential Model College, Notre Dame College, Dhaka College, Adamjee Cantonment College, Government Science College, Shaheed Anwar Girls’ College, Willes Little Flower School and College, and several other educational institutions.
The discussions focused on building an inclusive and collaborative framework through which student cultural organisations can work together to promote arts, literature, music, theatre, debate and Bangladesh’s cultural heritage.
Participants expressed a shared commitment to creating opportunities for joint festivals, workshops, performances, artistic exchanges and other initiatives to encourage meaningful interaction and mutual respect.
“Culture is one of the most powerful forces that can unite young people beyond institutional boundaries,” Sammo said.
“By working together, we can build a more vibrant, inclusive and impactful cultural community that empowers students to celebrate creativity, diversity and our shared heritage,” he added.
The initiative is open to student cultural organisations and interested students committed to advancing cultural activities through unity and cooperation.
Educational institutions across Dhaka have been invited to join the collective effort and contribute to a broader movement to strengthen cultural engagement among young people.
The initiative is expected to help develop a more integrated and collaborative cultural environment among students in Dhaka and inspire similar efforts elsewhere in Bangladesh.
