Bangladeshi architecture and interior design students have made their mark at the 18th AYDA International Awards, held recently in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event, initiated by Nippon Paint under its global CSR programme, received more than 9,000 entries from 17 countries this year under the theme “CONVERGE: Crafting Cultural Legacies”.

The competition challenged young designers to honour cultural heritage while shaping contemporary spaces.

Among thousands of global submissions, Bangladesh’s Shuvro Kumar Ghosh from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (Kuet) received an honorary mention in interior design.

Rabiul Islam Remon from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (Ruet) was also named a global finalist in architecture.

Both Bangladeshi projects reflected the global theme by drawing on traditional heritage and presenting it through community-focused design solutions.
