Sust Business Club hosted the Grameenphone FutureMakers 2026 Roadshow at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) on 13 September, bringing together more than 200 students from universities across Sylhet.

Held at the Mini Auditorium of Academic Building A, the event focused on the theme “AI for Social Good” and introduced students to the FutureMakers 2026 competition, which encourages participants to develop AI-based solutions to social challenges.

Ashfaque Hossain, Employer Brand Manager at Grameenphone, conducted the main session, outlining the competition process and opportunities before responding to questions from participants. The session explored how artificial intelligence could be applied to areas including education, employability, healthcare, inclusion, sustainability and digital safety.

Nuruzzaman Khan, Regional Head of Business Circle Sylhet at Grameenphone, also addressed the participants and encouraged them to pursue innovative ideas and represent the Sylhet region through their achievements in the competition.

Other Grameenphone representatives at the event included Yusuf Jamil Jumma, HR Business Partner; Khandaker Afanur, DGM and Head of Emerging Accounts, Sylhet; Anis Chowdhury, Senior Cluster Manager, Sylhet Metro; Kazi Shafiqul Azam, Circle Distribution and Retail Head; and Gazi Amanaul Hoque, GP Campus Lead at SUST.

SUST faculty members and advisers Dr Mohammad Mizenur Rahaman, Dr Mohammad Ashraful Ferdous Chowdhury and Prof Dr Md Mahbubul Hakim also attended the programme and spoke about the growing role of artificial intelligence in education, business and society.

The speakers stressed the importance of applying technological innovation to real-world problems and encouraged students to use AI responsibly and creatively to address challenges faced by individuals and communities.

Khandaker Ferdous Rawnak Shreshtho, founder of Sunagorik and a FutureMakers 2025 finalist from SUST, shared his experience of participating in the competition. He discussed the exposure, learning opportunities and personal growth he gained from the programme and encouraged students to identify everyday problems and develop solutions with potential social impact.

Md Tasnimul Haque, President of SUST Business Club, encouraged students to participate in the competition and highlighted its potential to develop creativity, problem-solving skills and familiarity with emerging technologies.
