UCBD hosts third ‘Campus to Corporate’ session with Bengal Meat CEO
Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) and Bengal Meat Processing Industries Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding to create experiential learning, internship and career-development opportunities for students.
The agreement was signed during the third session of UCBD’s skill-development initiative, “Campus to Corporate”, held at its Gulshan campus on 14 July, according to a press release.
AFM Asif, Chief Executive Officer of Bengal Meat Processing Industries Limited, attended the session as guest speaker.
He discussed corporate working environments, career preparation and leadership with students, highlighting the importance of practical knowledge and adaptable skills alongside academic learning.
The session also featured an interactive question-and-answer segment in which students sought guidance on early-career employability and transitioning from university to the workplace.
Manas Singh, Chief Executive Officer of STS Group and Universal College Bangladesh, said the initiative was intended to strengthen links between academia and industry and prepare graduates for employment.
“Direct mentorship from corporate leaders helps our students understand workplace expectations and prepare for their transition into the professional world,” he said.
AFM Asif said preparing future professionals required closer connections between academic learning and corporate realities.
“I am impressed by the analytical mindset of UCBD students, who are well-positioned to contribute to the corporate world,” he added.
Previous sessions of the Campus to Corporate initiative featured Shadab Ahmed Khan, Managing Director of Coca-Cola İçecek Bangladesh, and MHM Fairoz, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Singer Bangladesh Limited.
